Scott Mescudi, also better known as his stage name Kid Cudi is a Cleveland rapper who started to gain attention through the release of his first single, "Day 'n' Nite". Cudi released his first mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, in collaboration with streetwear brand 10 Deep as a free download via 10 Deep's website. The mixtape features a guest appearance from DC rapper Wale and has caught the attention of rappers like Kanye West. In early September 2008, he performed at the 2008 VMAs along side Travis Barker and DJ AM. In an interview with URB, Kid Cudi stated that he was working in the studio with Kanye West on his upcoming album 808s & Heartbreak, and will be featured on 2 of the songs on the album.

He's also signed to Kanye West's Record Label G.O.O.D MUSIC
